We offer multi-engine time building for students that already have a multi-engine rating. We do not offer initial multi-engine training.

Time building in multi-engine aircraft is important to move onto the next level in your career in aviation. Call us for more details.

A Multi-Engine Rating (ME) is an aviation qualification that allows pilots to operate aircraft with more than one engine. Typically, pilots earn their Multi-Engine Rating after obtaining their Private Pilot License (PPL) or Commercial Pilot License (CPL) and have already gained experience flying single-engine aircraft.

The Multi-Engine Rating training focuses on the specific skills and knowledge required to safely operate multi-engine airplanes. This includes understanding the differences in flight characteristics, performance, and systems between single-engine and multi-engine aircraft.

During Multi-Engine Rating training, pilots learn about:

Multi-engine aerodynamics: Understanding how multiple engines affect aircraft performance, stability, and control.
Engine-out procedures: Learning how to handle emergency situations such as engine failure during flight and practicing single-engine operations.
Systems management: Becoming familiar with the various systems on multi-engine aircraft, including fuel, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Performance calculations: Calculating takeoff, landing, and climb performance taking into account the aircraft’s increased weight and power.
Crew resource management: Developing skills to effectively communicate and coordinate with other crew members in multi-crew operations.

If you currently hold a Commercial Pilot Certificate (Airplane Single Engine Land) and are instrument rated, upon completion of your training and satisfactory check ride, you will hold a Commercial Pilot Certificate: Airplane Single & Multi-Engine Land with instrument privileges.

There is no written exam for this course.
