CFI SPIN ENDORSEMENT CERTICIATION
A CFI (Certified Flight Instructor) spin endorsement is a certification provided to a pilot by a Hewison Aviation flight instructor that allows them to perform intentional spins in an aircraft. A spin is a particular type of aerodynamic stall that results in autorotation about the vertical axis and a shallow, rotating, downward path.
To obtain a spin endorsement, a pilot typically undergoes specialized training with one of our qualified flight instructors. This training covers the theory and practice of spins, including recognition, prevention, and recovery techniques. Once the instructor deems the pilot proficient in spin recognition and recovery, they endorse the pilot’s logbook, indicating that they are authorized to perform intentional spins in the specified aircraft.
The endorsement is usually required by aviation authorities for pilots to be allowed to practice spins, as they can be dangerous if not performed correctly. It ensures that pilots have received proper instruction and demonstrated competence in handling spins before attempting them independently.
