New Piper Cherokee 140

The newest addition to the Hewison aviation training fleet is N7520R. Purchased in November of 2024 and now fully in service. this plane is a 1966 Piper Cherokee 140 retrofit with a 160 horsepower Lycoming engine. It joins N8044N as the second full-time plane at Griffiss International airport (KRME) just northwest of Utica. This aircraft brings the total Hewison fleet up to nine aircraft strong across three locations.

Summertime Skies

Quotes from Chris and Maura about expanding the business and looking to fly this summer. “We were looking for another aircraft to get ready for the summer” says school owner Chris Hewison, “Flying is best in this part of the country from late spring to mid-autumn. We are really excited to have found this plane to help students fly more out at Griffiss.” Maura Hewison, operations manager for the school and Chris’s wife and co-owner, says, “We have a great lineup out of the Rome school. John McCormick and Chris Blas have been doing great work for us for years and Carl Breazzano has been a fantastic recent addition.”
